Breast & chest tattoos on scarred skin after surgery may not be painful at all. Lidocaine is used during the treatment to keep you comfortable during the tattoo.

Anatomical placement is determined by measuring key points on the chest of each unique individual.

Size & shape of the areola is based on client preference and historical appearance. Larger clients with a history of pregnancy may have larger designs than more petite clients that have never had a pregnancy.

Ink color is unique to each client’s skin tone and preference. Permanent pigments are used to ensure longevity in the skin and heal naturally. 

Client’s may also want a fun or unique shaped nipple or areola and opt for a heart or star shape.

Each client has different details on their breast or chest that make their anatomy unique.

Some people have areola glands on the surface of their skin that look like bumps or pimples. These glands act as sebaceous lubrication to the sensitive tissue and is totally normal. 

Some people have creases on the surface of the areola or nipple that allow the tissue to expand and contract when cold or aroused.

These characteristics are individual to each client like color and shape, and are decided during the consultation.

Some clients are missing one areola (unilateral), while others had surgery on both breasts or chest (bilateral).

If the existing unilateral areola is intact, we match the color and shape to the surgical side.

If both areola have been removed, we can match the desired shape and color to a photo or based on your preferences.

Clients that have had breast augmentation or lumpectomy with tissue damage to the nipple or areola are still candidates for areola tattoos as the goal is to match the skin color using tattoo pigment.

Scar camouflage is a tattoo technique for clients that have surgical, burn, self-harm, acne scars or stretch marks.

We match the pigment color to the skin tone and tattoo it into the scarred area to blend it with surrounding tissue.

Clients that want to change the shape or color of their breast or chest tissue can do so using 3D areola tattoo.

Some clients desire a different tissue color or a larger circular areola shape. Others may desire a heart or star shaped design over a oval or circular shaped design.

Most health insurance providers will assist a mastectomy or gender transition care patient to pay for 3D areola tattoos after they have healed from surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.

You can either seek a prior authorization to see if they will pay for the procedure, or use health savings accounts (HSA) funds. Ask your specific carrier for information.
